Music with Lyrics

I love music, and I think music with lyrics is an excellent way to practice your English in a very fun way.  For example:   in past weeks we saw:   Future Tense “WILL” and the Modal Verb “COULD”.    With the song, “Unintended” of the extraordinary group “Muse”, you could endure your knowledge in these two topics and skills like listening, reading and speaking.  Let´s see…

“Could” tiene dos significados diferentes.

could ingles
“Could” es el pasado del verbo “can” y corresponde en castellano al pretérito del indicativo de “poder” (pude, pudiste…) y el imperfecto del indicativo de “poder” (podia, podias…)
  • I could see him.
  • Podía / pude verlo.
  • They could buy many things.
  • Podían/Pudieron comprar muchas cosas.
“Could” también es el condicional del verbo “can” y corresponde en castellano al condicional del verbo “poder” (podría, podrías…)
  • I could go to London.
  • Podría irme a londres.
  • We could buy a new car.
  • Podríamos comprar un coche nuevo.
  • Los modal verbs principales son:
    • Can / Could
    • May
    • Might
    • Must
    • Should
    • Ought to
Besides, you can learn new vocabulary like:

unintended - no esperado
extended - extendido
deepest - lo más profundo
inquisitions - inquisiciones
mending - reparar, zurcir
Balance - balance

Aniversario luctuoso de John Lennon
Diciembre 8

John Lennon
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Save the Children!

The devastating food crisis in Somalia and across East Africa is the worst in decades. Over 12 million people are affected -- many have no food, no water and have lost all their livestock. Millions of children face starvation if help is not delivered now. Save the Children and other aid agencies have launched a huge emergency response across the region and are on the ground delivering life-saving aid.

The 'I'm Gonna Be Your Friend' campaign supports Save the Children's appeal, helping raise funds for urgently needed food, water and medicine. This huge social media campaign has already unified the entertainment world, with over 150 of the world's most influential musicians, artists, sports stars and celebrities all posting details on the campaign to their Twitter and Facebook fans.

I´m Gonna Be your Friend - Song by Bob Marley

In high seas or in low seas
I'm gonna be your friend,
I'm gonna be your friend.
In high tide or in low tide,
I'll be by your side,
I'll be by your side.

(I heard her praying, praying, praying)
I said, I heard my mother,
She was praying (praying, praying, praying)
And the words that she said (the words that she said),
They still linger in my head (lingers in my head),
She said, "A child is born in this world,
He needs protection,
Got, guide and protect us,
When we're wrong, please correct us.
(when we're wrong, correct us).
And stand by me." yeah!

In high seas or in low seas,
I'm gonna be your friend,
He said, "I'm gonna be your friend."
And, baby, in high tide or low tide,
I'll be by your side,
I'll be by your side.

I siad I heard my mother,
She was crying' (I heard her crying'), yeah! (crying', crying'),
And the tears that she shed (the tears that she shed)
They still linger in my head (lingers in my head)

She said: "A child is born in this world,
He needs protection,
Got, guide and protect us,
When we're wrong, (when we're wrong), correct us.

And in high seas or low seas,
I'm gonna be your friend,
I'm gonna be your friend.
Said, high tide or low tide,
I'll be by your side,
I'll be by your side.

HONESTY

A song to think...  ; )

If you search for tenderness
It isn't hard to find
You can have the love you need to live
But if you look for truthfulness
You might just as well be blind
It always seems to be so hard to give
CHORUS
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honest is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you

I can always find someone
To say they sympathize
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve
But I don't want some pretty face
To tell me party lies
All I want is someone to believe

CHORUS

I can find a lover
I can find a friend
I can have security
Until the bitter end
Anyone can comfort me
With promises again
I know, I know

When I'm deep inside of me
Don't be too concerned
I won't as for nothin' while I'm gone
But when I want sincerity
Tell me where else can I turn
Because you're the one I depend upon

CHORUS

I can  -  Yo puedo

Y se usa para todos los pronombres

Interrogativo:

Can I ... ?

                       EL VERBO AUXILIAR “CAN”

I can hear him.
Puedo oírlo (a él).

You can get up early.
Usted puede levantarse temprano.

She can see you.
Ella puede verlo a usted.

We can study this course.
Nosotros podemos estudiar este curso.

They can help us.
